JUAN G. ANDREU, ESQ.

Mr. Andreu is the founding member of Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology Cum Laude from Florida State University (GO NOLES!) in 1996.  Mr. Andreu then attended St. Thomas University School of Law where he was an active member of the Moot Court Board and graduated with his Juris Doctor with Honors  in 1999.  He has been a member of the Florida Bar for almost 20 years and has represented creditors in all manner of consumer and commercial claims throughout the State of Florida for over 16 years.   Prior to his current role as Managing Member of Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis, Mr. Andreu was the litigation partner at a personal injury law firm and developed extensive experience in litigating bodily injury and personal injury protection claims throughout South Florida.  Mr. Andreu is licensed to practice law in Florida before both the state courts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District.  He is a member of the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA), the Receivables Management Association (RMA), and the Florida Creditor Bar Association (FLCBA).  

JORGE L. PALMA, ESQ.

Andreu, Plama, Lavin & Solis was co-founded by attorney, Jorge L. Palma 16 years ago on the foundation of creditor’s rights. Having represented a wide range of financial institutions, from the largest banks to small debt purchasers, Mr. Palma brings a high level of professionalism to the litigation and asset recovery industry. Mr. Palma earned his undergraduate degree in International Relations from Florida International University in 1999 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School (Go Blue!) in 2002. Mr. Palma is licensed to practice law in Florida before both the state courts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District. Mr. Palma is a member of the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA), the Receivables Management Association (RMA), and the Florida Creditor Bar Association (FLCBA).  

DESIREE LAVIN, ESQ.

Mrs. Lavin earned her undergraduate degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology Cum Laude from Florida State University in 1997.  She then attended Stetson Law School in St. Petersburg Florida and graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2001.  While attending law school at Stetson, she was a member of the Stetson Law Review.  After graduating and passing the Florida bar exam, she worked at an insurance defense law firm for eight years handling complex litigation cases, including but not limited to, nursing home cases as well as wrongful death cases.  She became a Senior Associate at that law firm, and in 2008, Ms. Lavin became a partner at this firm which was originally founded by Mr. Palma and Mr. Andreu, and which is dedicated to representing a wide range of financial institution from the largest banks to small debt purchasers.  Ms. Lavin is licensed to practice law in Florida before both the state courts of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts.  Ms. Lavin is a member of the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA), the Receivables Management Association (RMA), and the Florida Creditor Bar Association (FLCBA).  

CARLOS CRUANES, ESQ.

Mr. Cruanes is Of Counsel to the law firm of Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Law with Honors in 1997. With over twenty years experience as a Litigation Attorney, Mr. Cruanes has handled all aspects of Litigation from case inception through its trial, and any subsequent Appeals. Mr. Cruanes has conducted numerous jury trials in both state and Federal courts, achieving favorable results in complex, often difficult to win cases.  Mr. Cruanes has also practiced extensively in Florida State and Federal Appellate Courts, to include the Florida District Courts of Appeal, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Cruanes served as an Infantry Officer in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Major, and having commanded Marine Units of up to 450 Marines, in peacetime and war.

YULEXY SOLIS, ESQ.

Mr. Solis earned his first law degree from the University of Havana, School of Law in 2004. Mr. Solis moved to the US in 2005. In 2007 started working in collection litigation as a clerk, later promoted to paralegal within Andreu & Palma. In 2009, Mr. Solis started a Master’s Degree program in U.S. and Transnational Law for Foreign Lawyers at the University of Miami, School of Law. In 2011, he earned his Juris Doctor degree from University of Miami, School of Law. After graduating and passing the Florida bar exam, Mr. Solis joined Andreu & Palma again as an associate. In 2015, Mr. Solis became partner at Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis, PLLC.

GIANCARLO OLANO-LAVERGNE, ESQ.

Giancarlo Olano-Lavergne oversees firm compliance and governance. As former General Counsel and Compliance Officer for the Puerto Rico Housing Finance Authority, Mr. Olano-Lavergne has garnered extensive legal and executive experience in the housing finance industry, including loan origination and servicing, government compliance, loss mitigation and asset recovery. With over 7 years’ experience in the low-income housing financing industry in PR, Mr. Olano-Lavergne also provides a unique insight to the Puerto Rican consumer, particularly those facing economic hardship given the island’s current unstable economic environment. Mr. Olano-Lavergne received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in 2003 and 2006 respectively, and is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the State of Florida.

KRISTINA MOEHLE, ESQ.

Kristina Moehle was born and raised in East Brunswick, NJ. She graduated from Lehigh University in 2012 Cum Laude. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Finance and Marketing, and minored in Psychology and German. During her college career, Ms. Moehle was the President of the Lehigh Marketing Club, President and Founder of the German Club, and a member of the Club Tennis team. She also held various board positions in her sorority, Alpha Phi. Ms. Moehle then received her Juris Doctorate in 2015 from New York Law School, where she was a member of the Business and Financial Law Center, and the Italian Law Society. During her law school career and the three years following graduation, she worked in both New Jersey and New York practicing divorce law. She specialized in high net worth divorce cases dealing with heavily contested equitable distribution issues. Ms. Moehle is admitted to practice law in the States of Florida, New Jersey, and New York. She is a member of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Florida Bar and is admitted to the United States District Court of New Jersey. In her spare time, she is an avid tennis player and enjoys traveling throughout the world.   

ILIANA HERNANDEZ, Esq.

Ms. Hernandez earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Arts from Florida International University Cum Laude in 2017. She then attended Florida International University College of Law and graduated with her Juris Doctor in May 2020. While attending the College of Law Ms. Hernandez was a member of the FIU College of Law Negotiation Team and the FIU College of Law Moot Court team and participated in several competitions including an international arbitration competition conducted in Spanish in Madrid. During her law school career, she worked as a legal intern in the fields of family law and immigration law. Ms. Hernandez was admitted to the Florida Bar in November 2020 and is a member of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Florida Bar. She joined Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis, PPLC as an associate in January 2021. In her spare time, Ms. Hernandez enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Carla Keith earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Kennesaw State University in 2013. She worked in the real estate default industry before attending law school at Florida A&M University School of Law in Orlando Florida where she graduated in 2019. While attending law school, she was on the executive board of the Cherry Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law fraternity. She was also very active in the homelessness legal clinic at the law school. After graduating law school, she returned to Georgia, passed the Georgia bar exam and began her legal career in the Creditor’s Rights industry. Carla is a member of the Creditor’s Rights section of the Georgia Bar Association.

ROY RUGGIERO, Esq.

Mr. Ruggiero earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University in 1986.  He worked for Arthur Andersen as a public accountant until he returned to pursue his law degree at Villanova University School of Law.  He  earned his Juris Doctorate in 1991.   Upon graduation, Mr. Ruggiero passed the New Jersey and Pennsylvania bar exams. He has represented large banks, and other creditors for his entire legal career.  Mr Ruggiero has extensive litigation experience in the areas of creditors’ rights, commercial  disputes, construction matters, business law, employment law and real estate.  He has worked in the areas of bankruptcy from both a creditors side as well as debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases in all United States Districts Courts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Mr Ruggiero had his own practice for many years where he represented a large management and consulting firm and various small to medium size businesses as well as a handful of matrimonial clients.  He has more than 10 years specific experience representing large banks, universities and debt purchasers in high volume retail and commercial collection matters.  He is currently licensed to practice law in the state courts in New Jersey as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

OLEKSANDRA PILIUIKO, Esq.

Ms. Piliuiko obtained her undergraduate degree in international relations from Institute of International Relations Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv, Ukraine. She continued her education at the same institution, receiving a master’s degree in international law in 2013. In 2017, Ms. Piliuiko earned her Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. During her time at Nova, she completed an internship at 17th Judicial Circuit Court, working under the guidance of Honorable Thomas Lynch IV. Additionally, she worked as a legal extern at the Department of Enforcement at Financial Industry Regulatory Authority where she assisted in investigating and initiating enforcement actions against FINRA-regulated firms and individuals. After graduating and passing the Florida bar exam, Ms. Piliuiko joined Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis as an associate. She is admitted to practice law in the state of Florida and is a member of the Young Lawyers’ Division of the Florida Bar. She is fluent in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Mr. Mayer earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Louisiana State University in 2008.  He then attended a combined J.D/M.B.A program at LSU and graduated with his Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration in 2012.  After graduating and passing the Louisiana bar exam, he worked at a personal injury law firm for nine years handling complex litigation cases, including but not limited to, car accidents, manufacturing defects, premises liability, workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability.  Mr. Mayer joined the firm in 2022.  Mr. Mayer is licensed to practice law in all Louisiana state courts.
